چکیده

Summary In the placement process of cement slurry, treatment fluids such as spacer are pumped ahead cementitious slurry to minimize contamination by drilling fluid and ensure superior bonding casing formation. The discussed in this work can harden with time act a settable spacer. This characteristic be an advantage for well integrity if some pockets left annulus. Rheological compatibility different mixtures oil-based (OBDF) has been studied using rheometer, resulting R-factor, which indicates degree between fluids, calculated. An increase flow curve was observed mixture fluids. However, based on R-index, these compatible displacement wellbore. A nonionic surfactant, typically used conventional spacers acting emulsifier water-wetting agent, hardening design. results show that addition OBDF containing surfactant viscoelasticity. Hardening successfully reverse emulsion. By performing small-scale mud experiment, we improve wall cleaning efficiency while having minimal impact bulk displacement.

Improved Rheological Model of Oil-Based Drilling Fluid for South-western Iranian Oilfields

In this study, predictive capabilities of apparent viscosity of oil-based drilling fluids which is used in National Iranian South Oilfields Company (NISOC) were evaluated using Newtonian and non-Newtonian models to drive a new suitable equation. The non-Newtonian models include Bingham plastic, Power law, Herschel-Bulkley, Casson, and Robertson-Stiff. To validate the results, the calculated vis...

Thermal and Rheological Properties Improvement of Oil-based Drilling Fluids Using Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT)

In this paper, we detail our results for the impact of MWCNT on the thermal and rheological properties of oil-based drilling muds. Our analysis considers the effects of time, temperature, and MWCNT volume fraction. The scanning electron microscopy imaging technique was used to monitor the MWCNTsdispersion quality. The experimental results unveil a considerable enhancement in the thermal conduct...
